Deuces Wild Video Poker

Deuces Wild Video Poker is a pretty straight-forward video poker game, played in 5-Card-Draw manner, but where all deuces (2’s) are deemed wild cards.

Unlike wild jokers, as found in Video Joker Poker, wild deuces are more versatile. A joker can traditionally take the place of only an Ace, unless it is used to complete a Straight or a Flush. Deuces wild can take the place of any card that will better the player’s hand. A Pair of Queens with a deuce, for example, would become a Set of Queens (Three of a Kind).

Because there are four wild cards in the mix, the pay table is a bit different than that of traditional Jacks or Better based video poker games. You’ll need to develop a hand of at least Three of a Kind in order to instigate a payout. Note that Three of a Kind will only deliver your bet back to you, breaking even. A Straight or better is required to make a profit.

How to Play Deuces Wild Video Poker

Deuces Wild is a traditional 5-Card-Draw video poker game. You select the coin denomination, and how many coins to play, up to 5. Note that there is a video poker bonus payout for a Natural Royal Flush when betting the maximum 5 coins.

With your bet placed, click Draw. You’ll be dealt 5 cards. Click on each card you wish to keep. A HOLD or HELD sign appears on or below each card you’ve clicked. You can click a card again to remove the HOLD/HELD sign. Any card not held will be discarded.

Click Draw again when ready to discard, and all unheld cards will be replaced with new ones. If your new 5-card hand ranks high enough to initiate a payout, you win. If not, you lose.

Deuces Wild Video Poker – Doubling

Some Deuces Wild Video Poker games offer a Double feature on any winning combination. The player is offered a choice; do they wish to go double-or-nothing on a high-card draw against the dealer? If you choose yes, 5 cards are dealt. The first card is revealed, belonging to the dealer. From the remaining four cards, you select one. If it is higher than the dealer’s, you win double your original bet. If it is lower, you lose the total bet. If it ties, you win your original bet, but not the double.
